Jerry Leger is one of the great Canadian songwriters and also one of the most productive. With 16 finely-crafted studio albums in 19 years to his credit, he sings (and writes) vivid, beautifully-observed songs across a wide span of human experience. Songs that are hard to categorise but which (if pushed) fall broadly into the category of Americana (Canadiana ?) owing a debt to people like Dylan, Hank, Townes Van Zandt and Lucinda Williams but also to Cowboy Junkies, Ron Sexsmith and maybe even Elvis Costello whilst in reality always being true to himself.
Leger has toured throughout Canada, the US, Europe and the UK, playing headlining shows and opening for acts such as Ron Sexsmith, The Sadies, Justin Townes Earle among others. Recent shows also saw Leger opening for legendary artist Steve Earle.
His latest album Donlands was greeted with rave reviews including from Uncut Magazine and Rolling Stone and stands as one of the peak moments in an already towering body of work.
For Leger, the search for the elusive creative spark remains never-ending, but there are always new routes to explore in getting to it.
Leger will play and sing solo on acoustic and electric guitar. An opportunity to get up close with a true original.
